Awkward City is a young visual performance company with a creative focus addressing perceptions of society and interaction.

Working in collaboration with an independent sound artist, we aim to create dynamic, provocative and original theatre that probes the limitations of live visual media and the modern stage.

As a performance company, we are actively engaged in delivering projects that are accessible by and open to all ages with a niche for youth groups not traditionally invited to participate in theatre and creative performance.

In our performances you will find a collection of characters, phrases and situations combined with anecdote, invention and popular culture in order to filter the modern world through our awkwardly askew lens.

The creative engine of the company is to attempt to reflect onstage the different aspects of our contemporary world and the sparks that fly when we strike it with our curiosity.
